Zoey

My female dog is Zoey, she is one and a half. Zoey is a Yorkshire Terrier, she is a very high maintenance dog in every sense possible.  For those who know the breed of the yorkie know that they were bred to hunt mice in factories. Well I can attest to that before buying a house, I rented a place where there was a major mice problem. Just a few short days after I brought Zoey home, as I was doing my homework. She started to paw me; I was thinking she wanted me to throw her tiny squeaky duck. As my hand began to move towards what I thought was the toy, I release it was a mouse. I guess it is safe to say she knows her calling.

I nicknamed her the hoover vacuum since is always sniffing to see what prize she can land from the floor. Zoey requires baths once a week and is very demanding when she wants something. At 6:30 A.M. she has to eat breakfast, and she will do anything to wake me up, this includes weekends and holidays. Yet I love her because of her personality. She is very sweet and wants you to pet her especially when she feels something is wrong. She is also very territory which is funny coming from a three pound dog. Over all Zoey has helped my last two years at ASU be very interning. Sometimes I feel that our dogs receive honorary mentions on our degrees. Since they listen to all our papers, readings, and have to adjust to our new schedules each semester.

  1. Lizbeth, thank you for introducing us to Zoey. She is absolutely adorable. I have two dogs as well they are Shelties. I agree with you that they too share all of the experiences that we have and also have to compromise and change their schedules and style of living in other for us to attend school.

  2. Awww, I love it! I think this is a fantastic topic to do a free-write about.I grew up surrounded by Labrador retrievers and would like to have a Great Dane be my companion one day (when I'm responsible enough to be able to handle such a big pal), but I do very much like Yorkshire terriers. I definitely fall into the dog person column. I can't stand cats, but love, love, love dogs!! I'm so glad that my entire family consists of dog people. Thanks for the smile this morning.
